Tip #1: Get Organized

First and foremost, you must organize your office space. Setting up your work environment to fulfill your day to day work responsibilities provides a lot of benefits. For starters, you will create designated places for your important documents and resources, which can eliminate any unnecessary searching throughout the day. It’s also very important to note that when an office is organized well, it helps make you feel more put together and ready to tackle whatever the day throws your way.

Take a few minutes at the beginning or end of your work day to re-organize your office to set the day’s work up for success.

Tip #2: Prioritize Your Day

You have a lot of work to do and often times, it varies from quick tasks to larger projects or initiatives. One great way to get all of your work done, without feeling overworked, is to prioritize your work. Simple tasks are easy to get done right away, and leave a larger chunk of your day to devote to your projects that require more thought and time.

As soon as you get to your desk (and after re-organizing your things) sit down to make a list of your priorities. You’ll feel energized with a clear outlook on how to spend your time throughout the rest of your day.

Tip #3: Take a Walk

Don’t skip this tip! It might seem counterproductive to spend time not doing any work, but in reality, spending time on a walk, unplugged from technology, meetings, and interruptions will clear your head and revitalize you for the rest of your day.

Whether you take a break after a longer task, or to go grab lunch, you should absolutely take advantage of all the benefits a break for fresh air has to offer!

Tip #4: Stop Checking Emails

One of the most ruthless productivity killers is email. When we are constantly checking email every time we get a notification, we can hardly get any work done without interruption. Set aside specific times of the day to check email and respond. While this might seem extremely difficult at first, it will be one of the best things you can do for your productivity. If you stick to your email schedule, you’ll notice how few of your emails are actually urgent and require your attention right away.
